What would you say about the spoken word and poetry industry in Kenya?
The spoken word industry in Kenya has grown so big with poets coming up with different styles of expressing themselves and the audience is slowly switching and starting to appreciate their style. On my side it has been a great experience because I believe it’s right about time I gave what has not been experienced and I hope more people will get to appreciate the beauty of my poetry.
What do we expect next from Sanaa King?
I want to change the industry and make people embrace poetry as an art that is both entertaining and educative. It has been a challenge performing since most people want you to perform for free claiming that they are giving you a platform. I have not yet recorded anything in studio but I plan to hit the studios soon and hoping that it will be a biggest 254 recording featuring Nadia X-Clusive and Willie Oeba.
